2 kids, 2 adults, 1 kick-ass camper van…endless adventure.

The pace of life is fast and getting faster every day; not much chance of stopping it and that’s okay.

It seems that nearly everyone we know who has children of their own says, ‘enjoy your kids now, while they are young, before it all gets really crazy with dance classes, ball games, carpool, and school schedules.’ So how does one slow life down enough to soak in that precious and short-lived time with each other? For us the answer was to invest in a conversion campervan and hit the trail across North, Central, and South America.

Luckily (or maybe not?) we can take our work with us. Marcy owns her own business and can work wherever there’s an internet connection and cell phone coverage. But the main purpose of this trip is to take a break; to carve out a big chunk of time to explore, to meet friends old and new, to expose our children to other languages, lands, creatures, cultures, cities; to invite in the unexpected. Children are sponges, constantly absorbing…we realize that Morgan and Derek are likely too young to remember all the details but we hope to cultivate in them a spirit of adventure. And even if they don’t remember it all, we certainly will.
