After our stay on the Big Island we weren’t quite sure what to expect of Maui. However, Maui didn’t take long to welcome us as we were immediately upgraded to a brand new Cadillac rental car. Apparently this is how we roll in Maui.
With a new caddy waiting to be tested, we headed to the summit of Haleakala volcano where we enjoyed a quick hike and some amazing views. Then we decended back to sea level for some family beach time. We arrived in Maui three days before Marcy’s work conference and planned to just kick back and simply enjoy the sun, the water, and each other…that is exactly what we did.
We did manage to sneak in a morning whale watch to check out the amazing Humpback whales and were not disappointed. We saw dozens of whales, some even breaching quite close to the boat. I’m always enthralled with these massive mammals and luckily Marcy and the kids share my enthusiasm.
We closed out our Maui vacation with plenty of beach time, hours at the kids water slide in the hotel, and a little work for Marcy. In short, Maui is what we expected of Hawaii.
