California is an amazing place. Sure, its full of people, traffic, more people, highways, and people on highways, but geographically its truly amazing. You can honestly begin a trip among crashing waves on the beach, drive an hour east to camp at 4,500 feet in the mountains, and then continue east for another hour and arrive in the barren desert.
