White Sands National Monument

White Sands is one of those places that needs to be seen to be believed. I remember seeing pictures of this place in magazines as a kid and being totally amazed that such a place even existed in our country. Growing up in the lush green of the Vermont mountains, White Sands honestly seemed impossible. Ever since those early images, I’ve wanted to visit this wild landscape. I tried to explain it to Marcy, but all I really needed was to have her google the images. After that she was hooked too.

Today we spent hours hiking, climbing up and sliding down dunes, and enjoying a picnic lunch in a completely foreign land.
