We began our adventure with an awesome weekend stop at Nicole and Dave’s. One of the most amazing things about a trip like this is the ability to spend quality time with an old friend (and meet their growing family). For years Nicole and I talked about getting together, and finally we had a chance to share a glass of wine, laugh those big laughs that bring tears to your eyes, and watch our kids (Ayla, Aduh, Ruth, Eve, Morgan and Derek) play together. We will remember the endless bouncing on the big trampoline, meandering through Virginia Tech’s botanical gardens, making balloon animals, watching Ayla and Morgan lip-synching Miley Cyrus songs, and one late-night trip down memory lane.
